CD137/TNFRSF9: Target/Biomarker Introduction, products summarized (antibody/ADC/bispecific/antigen/ORF vector/VLP) and disease/indication/condition/MOA for drug discovery and IVD
It's the GeneMedi's summary page for Target/Biomarker Introduction of CD137/TNFRSF9. The page also collects GeneMedi's different modalities and formats products for CD137 in therapeutics/drug discovery and IVD diagnostics, which is including antibody, ADC, bispecific, antigen, ORF vector, VLP, etc. With GeneMedi's target-insight database-GM ITD database, the CD137 target is also connected to human indications/diseases/conditions/MOA.
Target sublocation: Transmembrane Protein.
The protein encoded by this gene is a member of the TNF-receptor superfamily. This receptor contributes to the clonal expansion, survival, and development of T cells. It can also induce proliferation in peripheral monocytes, enhance T cell apoptosis induced by TCR/CD3 triggered activation, and regulate CD28 co-stimulation to promote Th1 cell responses. The expression of this receptor is induced by lymphocyte activation. TRAF adaptor proteins have been shown to bind to this receptor and transduce the signals leading to activation of NF-kappaB. CD137?is a member of the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) receptor family. Its alternative names are?tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily member 9?(TNFRSF9),?4-1BB?and?induced by lymphocyte activation?(ILA). It is of interest to immunologists as a co-stimulatory?immune checkpoint?molecule. It is expressed by activated T cells of both the CD4+ and CD8+ lineages. Although it is thought to function mainly in co-stimulating those cell types to support their activation by antigen presenting cells expressing its ligand (CD137L), CD137 is also expressed on dendritic cells, B cells, NK cells, neutrophils and macrophages.
