Structurally, cTnI is one of the three subunits of the troponin complex, the others being cardiac Troponin T (cTnT) and cardiac Troponin C (cTnC). The precision of this regulation is pivotal for the efficient pumping of blood by the bovine heart. What sets cTnI apart is its remarkable cardiac specificity.
